James Riley is the sole director of Bunting & Riley Ltd. He originally qualified as a Barrister being called to the Bar in 1995. He achieved dual qualification by becoming a Solicitor of the Supreme Court in 1999 and subsequently has attained a Higher Court Criminal Advocacy Qualification in 2011.
Mr Riley's particular qualifications and training has given him the foundations not only to become a formidable criminal advocate but also in striking decisive blows for his clients at the Police Station. Notwithstanding the fact that Mr Riley plays an increasing role for his clients at the Crown Court where he can best utilise his training at the Bar he remains committed in his duty to give a professional service to clients at the Police Station.
Mr Riley's combination of talent and experience provides the perfect combination for his clients. He demonstrates compassion and a real empathy for those he represents, he is respected by the Court and adopts a combative yet professional attitude towards those that Prosecute.
He applies his skills to all criminal matters from Public Order to Proceeds of Crime Act offences and has been involved in the representation of clients in numerous significant criminal cases involving gangland murder, conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, cultivation and medicinal use of cannabis and money laundering.
Annis Rowlands was admitted as a Solicitor in January 1999 and became a Duty Solicitor a short time later joining Bunting and Riley in 2006.
Prior to this she was a Partner in a local firm living and working in Buxton since 1997, previously working in Merseyside and starting her career in law originally in one of the Legal Departments of a well known motoring organisation.
Specialising in Criminal Law since joining Bunting and Riley, with a diverse range of experience, understanding the often great personal difficulties that being involved with the Police and Criminal Justice System can cause.
